• Bruce Barragan

    Executive-in-Residence, Armstrong State University Master of Health Services Administration Program

    Bruce Barragan began serving on both the Memorial Health Board of Directors and the Chatham County Hospital Authority in 2017. He is executive-in-residence for the Master of Health Services Administration Program at Armstrong State University in Savannah. He is a life fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

    Barragan’s prior career experience includes serving as president emeritus of GMK Associates, a healthcare design and construction firm headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. He also spent more than 20 years at McLeod Health in Florence, South Carolina, where he served as president and chief executive officer. Prior to that, Barragan held leadership positions at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in South Carolina and at Memorial Health in Savannah.

    A native of Savannah, Barragan served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Duke University. Before joining our Board of Directors, he served on the boards of Hospice Savannah; the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce; the Florence County Economic Development Partnership; and the South Carolina Hospital Association.
