William Wessinger, M.D., Recognized as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

(November 11, 2005) - The National Association for Healthcare Quality and the Healthcare Quality Certification Board have recognized William Wessinger, M.D., for attaining the international credential of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). Wessinger, medical director for clinical resource utilization management at Memorial Health University Medical Center, successfully completed a fully accredited, international examination that assesses knowledge and understanding in a number of healthcare quality areas. These included the process to achieve regulatory compliance and accreditation/licensure, program development, departmental management skills, and quality improvement concepts. The granting of CPHQ status recognizes professional and academic achievement by individuals in the field of healthcare quality management. The CPHQ program is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies of the National Organization for Competency Assurance in Washington, D.C. It is the only international voluntary certification program in the field of healthcare quality management to achieve this accreditation. Wessinger joins the ranks of more than 10,700 colleagues in the United States and internationally who have achieved this important career milestone.
