Ochsner Becomes President of Georgia Surgical Society

(October 25, 2007) - M. Gage Ochsner, M.D., FACS, was recently inducted as president of the Georgia Surgical Society. Ochsner is the chief of trauma services at Memorial University Medical Center and holds a faculty appointment as professor of surgery, Mercer University School of Medicine. With a membership of more than 400 surgeons, the 46-year-old Georgia Surgical Society is dedicated to the advancement of surgical practice and optimal patient care. The society encourages its members to pursue original investigative work, improve surgical teaching and education in the state, create an atmosphere for the exchange of ideas among members, provide continuing medical education, and foster high standards of ethical practice.
