Memorial Health Named a Top Company to Work For

(January 8, 2007) - Memorial Health has been named one of the country's "100 Best Companies to Work For" in 2007 by FORTUNE magazine. Ranked number 91 for 2007 this marks the fourth year in a row that Memorial Health has been named to this prestigious list. "The 100 Best Companies to Work For" list is compiled for FORTUNE by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco. The rankings are based on an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. The employee opinion score, which makes up two-thirds of the total score, comes from employee responses to a 57-question survey which go to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees from each company. The remaining one-third of the score is based on an evaluation of each company's demographic makeup, pay and benefits programs, and culture. Companies are scored in four areas: credibility (communication to employees), respect (opportunities and benefits), fairness (compensation, diversity), and pride/camaraderie (philanthropy, celebrations). More than 446 companies participated in the survey this year. Memorial Health is one of only six companies headquartered in Georgia to be named to the list. "We are proud of each and every one of our Team Members for making Memorial Health one of FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" four years in a row," said Memorial Health President and CEO, Robert A. Colvin. "This is an honor not only for Memorial Health, but also for our city, county, and region." Memorial Health is a two-state healthcare organization serving a 35-county area in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina.
