(April 17, 2008) – Memorial University Medical Center surgeon Christopher Senkowski, M.D., FACS, has been appointed to the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Coding and Reimbursement Committee. The SSO is a professional association for surgical oncologists and non-physician healthcare providers involved in cancer care. It has more than 2,000 physician members.
Senkowski is a recognized cancer surgeon at Memorial who specializes in pancreatic, liver, gallbladder, reflux disease, and minimally invasive surgical approaches to the esophagus and liver. He attended Harvard Medical School and completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Senkowski is board certified in surgery and surgical critical care. He has been active nationally in advocating for surgeons and their patients. Senkowski is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society for American Gastrointestinal Laparoscopic Surgeons.
