Memorial Health earns 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades

Memorial Health announced today that it has received a 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. This marks the third year in a row Memorial Health has earned this quality award, which is given to the top 10% of hospitals for their commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care.

“It is an honor to once again receive the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award, said Brad Talbert, Memorial Health Chief Executive Officer. “Our team focuses on patient safety every day and we strive to provide safe, high-quality care to every patient we serve.”

Recognition on Healthgrades’ Patient Safety Excellence Award list is based solely on patient outcomes. To determine the top-performing hospitals for patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. The annual study found patients treated in hospitals that received the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower chance of experiencing certain complications than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals

“As a 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award recipient, Memorial Health consistently puts the well-being of their patients and staff at the forefront, setting a high standard for patient safety nationwide,” said Debra Gradick, MD FACEP, senior physician consultant at Healthgrades. “We commend Memorial Health for providing consistently exceptional care while preventing serious injuries, giving patients their best chance of a seamless recovery.”

In addition to the Patient Safety Excellence Award, Memorial Health is also the recipient of numerous accolades from Healthgrades based on its exceptional performance in key service areas, including cardiac care, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery and GI surgery. These achievements further underscore our commitment to delivering compassionate, individualized care at every step of the patient journey.
