Hyperbaric medicine

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a treatment often used for non-healing wounds. During HBOT, patients are enclosed in a vessel called a hyperbaric chamber. While inside, they will breathe 100 percent oxygen at a pressure greater than the normal atmosphere. Hyperbaric medicine helps chronic wounds heal faster and can also be useful in fighting off certain types of infection.

Additionally, HBOT helps stimulate the growth of new blood vessels, which can improve circulation and contribute to wound healing.

The hyperbaric medicine center is open for scheduled appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. For more information, please call (912) 350-8375.
