The Memorial Health Heart & Vascular Institute gives every heart surgery patient a 24/7 lifeline and support system when they leave the hospital.

After surgery, our patients are given a red silicone bracelet inscribed with a phone number they can call day or night to talk with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner. They can use the number to ask questions, get advice, and alleviate their anxiety. Patients are encouraged to wear the red band until it is removed by their physician at their 30-day follow up visit.

Our goal is to provide around-the-clock access for our patients, lower the risk of complications, and help our patients stay out of the hospital.
