Memorial Health is pleased to announce Blake Romero, MSN, RN. NE-BC, has been named as its chief nursing officer (CNO). He will serve as the executive leader for all nursing operations at Memorial Health.

“Blake is an energetic and innovative nurse leader,” said Brad Talbert, Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Health. “He has more than 20 years’ experience as a nurse leader and has served as chief nursing officer at two HCA Healthcare facilities. We are excited to have him join our senior leadership team.”

Romero previously served as chief nursing officer for Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, a 311-bed HCA Healthcare facility in Las Vegas, NV. In this role, he provided executive leadership for nursing team and ensured safe, effective and compassionate patient care for their patients. His nursing team demonstrated exceptional clinical quality and posts high marks in care experience, employee engagement, and employee retention. Several units have been recognized as or earned honorable mention as HCA Healthcare Units of Distinction. Romero also served as chief nursing officer at Garden Park Medical Center, a 150-bed HCA Healthcare hospital in Gulfport, MS.

He holds a Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing – Leadership from Western Governors University. He earned the Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) from the American Nurses Association in 2017.
