Orthopedic care
Orthopedists are doctors who take care of the entire musculoskeletal system. They diagnose and treat conditions such as sprains, strains, broken bones, arthritis and osteoporosis. Some of the treatments they offer include recommending lifestyle changes, applying casts and performing surgeries, such as ligament repairs or total joint replacements.
Services our orthopedic specialists offer
Our specialists, who meet strict orthopedic standards set by The Joint Commission, have the expertise and equipment to give you the best course of treatment.
Orthopedic Surgery
Surgical repairs are often used by our board-certified orthopedists to help heal fractures affecting your joints. In many cases, this is a path to minimizing pain. We offer several surgical repair procedures, including:
- Fracture repair — For complicated bone fractures that won’t respond to nonsurgical treatments, we attach orthopedic plates, nails, screws or pins to properly align bones and promote healing. Occasionally, bone grafts are used to speed the healing process.
- Hand surgery — We’re the only hospital in the area with the expertise to provide delicate hand surgeries.
- Total joint replacement — We use advanced computer-assisted surgical techniques to completely replace damaged knees and hips with lightweight, durable prosthetics.
Take our knee assessment and our hip assessment to determine if surgery may be your next step.
Minimally invasive orthopedics
In many cases, these treatment options are available for quicker recovery times and greater comfort:
- Arthroscopic surgery — Our orthopedic doctors use an arthroscope, or miniature camera, to view inside your joints and repair them through tiny incisions that minimize discomfort and scarring.
- Rotator cuff repairs and shoulder stabilization — We use various techniques to help prevent repeated dislocation of the shoulder joint. Often, physical therapy is enough to strengthen the muscles around the joint. In more severe cases, our orthopedic surgeons will surgically repair the joint.
Orthopedic therapy
To help get you back to daily activities, our specialists use a variety of treatments, including:
- Arthritis treatment — Treatments range from pain relievers to anti-inflammatories for easing symptoms to joint fusion surgery or replacement in severe cases.
- Physical rehabilitation — Our inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation service can help you recover from injury, maximize the benefits of surgery and, in some cases, avoid surgery altogether.
- Sports medicine — We treat many bone and joint problems caused by sports-related activities.
